This spring, the Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home hosted its 23rd Annual Walk/Run for Families in Crisis—an event that not only brought our community together in a joyful, active way, but also raised critical funds for the children we serve. Thanks to the generous support of Subaru, this year’s event was a resounding success. From families with strollers to seasoned runners, hundreds of participants gathered with purpose and heart. The event was filled with energy, music, laughter, and connection, showing the power of community when it comes together for a meaningful cause. Subaru’s sponsorship played an instrumental role in making this event possible. 100% of the funds raised go directly toward our children’s food budget for the year. This is not just about meals—it’s about nourishment, stability, and dignity. Ensuring that our children have access to consistent, nutritious food is one of the most essential parts of the care we provide, and this sponsorship helps make that possible. At the Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home, we believe in creating a loving, supportive environment where children can thrive—and that starts with meeting their needs. Subaru’s commitment to giving back aligns with that mission, and we are so grateful for their partnership. Thank you, Subaru, for helping us care for El Paso’s most vulnerable children and families. Together, we’re building a stronger, more compassionate community—one step at a time.

El Paso Pro-Musica recently transported musicians to the La Nube Children's Museum, thanks to Subaru, and the talented musical artists performed for homeless children living at the Reynolds Home, who have never experienced a musical Concert. Artistic Director Zuill Bailey and the visiting musicians also performed youngsters from Hillside Elementary, who are hard of hearing. One youngster, who just experienced surgery to begin to feel vibrations was overwhelmed by the cellos. Zuill Bailey helped the child by showing her how to hold it up against her and to actually feel the vibrations. The moment was overwhelming and made possible by Subaru El Paso and their generosity. El Paso Pro-Musica will continue to work to touch lives through musical programs in the region, and Subaru El Paso provides "the key," to our musical success.

At the Lee & Beulah Moor Children's Home, we believe that kindness has the power to change lives. This belief was brought to life in the most incredible way through Subaru’s Operation Warm event, where the Subaru team didn’t just deliver warmth—they delivered an unforgettable experience. On a special day filled with joy and generosity, the Subaru team visited our home, bringing more than just jackets for the children. They brought a celebration. The day was filled with laughter, games, and a warm, delicious meal that made every child feel seen, valued, and cared for. Their team’s dedication to creating a truly memorable experience spoke volumes about the heart behind their mission. Beyond the gifts and the fun, the greatest impact of this event was the sense of community and support that Subaru shared with us. Seeing our children light up with happiness and knowing they were surrounded by people who genuinely care was a gift beyond measure. We are deeply grateful for our growing relationship with Subaru and their unwavering commitment to making a difference. Their kindness has left a lasting impression, and we look forward to continuing this meaningful partnership in the future. On behalf of Make-A-Wish, I want to express our deepest gratitude for the incredible celebration you hosted for Emiliano and his family. You went above and beyond to make Emiliano’s wish to see the Rams play in person a truly unforgettable experience—even before the wish itself became a reality! Your thoughtful and generous efforts to surprise Emiliano were nothing short of extraordinary. From the incredible assortment of Rams merchandise—including his new jersey, shoes, and the baseball cap directly from the stadium—to the thoughtful gifts for his family, you showed just how much you care. The gesture of purchasing a brand-new TV for the family was both practical and heartfelt, ensuring they’ll have countless opportunities to make special memories together. The festive atmosphere you created with Santa, catering, and the joyful celebration made Emiliano feel like a true VIP. You gave him and his family a day filled with happiness, excitement, and love—memories that will last a lifetime. It’s moments like these that remind us why the Make-A-Wish mission is so impactful, and we couldn’t do it without the incredible support of partners like you. Please know how much we appreciate your dedication to making Emiliano feel special. Your generosity not only fulfilled his wish but also created a ripple effect of joy and hope for his family and everyone fortunate enough to witness this magical day. Thank you for being champions of our mission and for giving Emiliano and his family such an unforgettable gift. We are so grateful for your partnership and look forward to continuing to work together to bring hope, strength, and joy to more children in our community.

El Pasoans Fighting Hunger wants to send a big thank you to Subaru El Paso for being a Table Sponsor for our 2nd Annual Noche de Estrellas Gala on September 19, 2024 at the Plaza Hotel in downtown El Paso. Their investment along with that of other sponsors helped create an evening of warmth, togetherness, and meaningful community engagement. Our food bank clients, the very heart of our mission, were the honored guests at the gala event. They enjoyed a gourmet dinner - with VIP sponsors acting as guest servers - enveloped by an atmosphere of elegance and joy, while being treated to entertainment and other surprises. The delighted smiles and expressions of gratitude spoke volumes, as guests enjoyed an experience they would not soon forget. One attendee, a single mother of two, expressed her gratitude for the evening, saying, “I never imagined I’d be treated to a night like this. Everyone was so kind, and the food was amazing. It makes me feel like the community really cares about us.” “It was incredible to see our sponsors, many of whom are leaders in the community, serve our neighbors with such grace and humility,” said Susan Goodell, CEO of El Pasoans Fighting Hunger. “This event reminds us all that no matter where we come from, we are united in our desire to create a brighter future, free from hunger.” It was clear that Noche de Estrellas had once again made a significant impact — not just in raising funds for El Pasoans Fighting Hunger but in fostering a spirit of unity and empathy across the city. Sponsors left the event with full hearts, deeply touched by the experience, while community guests went home feeling appreciated, supported, and hopeful for the future. We are ever so grateful to Subaru for being a part of this event and look forward to many more years of partnership!

Subaru El Paso is a long-time partner of YWCA El Paso del Norte Region, supporting our organization in a variety of ways including event sponsorships and attendance. For many years running, Subaru El Paso has sponsored our Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event, a community walk and block party held annually in October that calls on men to take an active role in ending gender-based violence against women. The proceeds from this event fund YWCA's domestic violence shelter, the Sara McKnight Transitional Living Center. Our event guests wear red high heels to ceremoniously "Walk a Mile" in a woman's shoes. Subaru generously sends their corporate team to walk in heels and a lead car or two for the parade. Subaru doesn't just attend an event, however, Subaru SHOWS UP. The guys from Subaru El Paso arrive with a lot of energy and team spirit, rocking their red stilettos, and ready to kick off the parade of several hundred men and boys. While some team members drive the cars and lead us through the streets of downtown El Paso, the other Subaru teammates proudly walk in the procession, waving red pom poms and cheering everyone on. When we arrived back in the downtown plaza for a dance contest and awards, Subaru El Paso was all in for the festivities and really added to the celebratory atmosphere. They have some great dance moves! Behind the scenes, when our YWCA marketing colleagues arrived at the Subaru El Paso dealership to take their team photo ahead of the event, we got to see the true heart of this group. We took some silly shots of the guys goofing in their red high heels and joking around with each other. Then Barbara Armendariz, General Manager of Subaru El Paso, walked into the showroom and the guys came to attention. Our colleagues commented on how obvious it was to see the respect Barbara's team holds for her. The YWCA team returned to our offices and shared with us how fun the group was and how touched they were to see the high regard this group of men held for their general manager - a woman in a man's world of automotive dealerships. Less than 5% of all auto dealerships in America are owned or managed by a woman. How fortunate we are to have a businesswoman like Ms. Armendariz setting an example of leadership in our city. Barbara Armendariz and the Subaru El Paso team embody the mission of YWCA - to empower women. We are deeply thankful for their continued support and partnership in creating meaningful change in our beloved city.

The Subaru El Paso team made a significant impact by joining forces with Make-A-Wish for the Walk for Wishes in April 2024, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to the critically ill children of El Paso, Texas. Forming a large and spirited team, they didn't just participate—they led with heart, sharing personal stories of how Make-A-Wish has touched their lives and the lives of those around them. The event was more than just a walk; it was a powerful statement of community and compassion. Team members from Subaru El Paso spoke openly about the profound impact Make-A-Wish has had on their families and friends, illustrating the organization's vital role in bringing hope and joy to children facing unimaginable challenges. By creating such a strong and passionate team, Subaru El Paso not only supported the fundraising efforts but also shone a light on the importance of advocacy for wish kids. Led by General Manager Barbara Armendariz, the Subaru of El Paso volunteer team arrived at our camp on Day 1 with a generous donation of pizzas for all 100 participants. The meal was such welcome nourishment during a day filled with grief support groups, a Memorial Scavenger Hunt, movement and dance sessions, and a visit from a local therapy dog. The Alzheimer’s Association® West Texas Chapter was the recipient of a very generous gift of $54,000 to help the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. El Paso is a federally recognized medically underserved community. Currently, El Paso ranks 10th in the nation with a 15% Alzheimer’s prevalence rate among seniors ages 65 and older. What started out as a conversation between the General Manager and a customer waiting for an oil change, became a bonded experience of the loss of their mother to this disease and devastation left behind. From that profound loss, hope was resurrected and the love was shared with our community in a very impactful way. This generous gift helps fuel our mission of leading the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Because of Subaru-El Paso, we can continue to empower and mobilize our community to give all people access to early diagnosis, treatment and quality care throughout their journey. Families and caregivers have access to the Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 helpline where licensed care managers are available to consult and connect to community referral resources that help support the caregiving journey. The West Texas Chapter offers support groups to families through trained and credentialed volunteers. The Association also provides education and awareness workshops and presentations to educate our community about Alzheimer’s and other dementia, treatment, care, and the importance of brain health. All at no cost to families. Most importantly, this gift ensures we continue investing in research as we inch closer to a cure in this era of treatment. We will not stop until we have our first survivor. Caring for a loved one living with this disease forces families to lean into a love never thought possible. Subaru-El Paso shared the love El Pasoan’s can lean on to.

The Whole Hog is a fundraiser event to support the children of an inclusive preschool for children with and without disabilities. As a non-profit preschool, El Paso Special Needs Education Center DBA Every Little Blessing (ELB) relies heavily on this fundraiser to support programming costs and scholarship funding for students. Subaru El Paso quickly stepped up to the plate to sponsor this event. Barbara was involved in helping us get media coverage to spread the word about the event, and checked in frequently to see how it was going, and ask what they can do to help. Not only is Barbara the best, but she has developed a team that goes above and beyond for the community. Subaru isn't just about selling great cars, they are about supporting the community and building relationships. We appreciate you participating in The Whole Hog 2024 and beyond!!! Thanks to Subaru El Paso for helping us build our scholarship fund for the students of ELB!!

The magic of a wish, for those of us at Make-A-Wish, comes in many forms. It is of course, a child's wish itself coming true. But oftentimes it is also how a wish can come true, and there was certainly some magic involved as the Subaru El Paso family worked to ensure that Jeremmy's wish for a playset and Captain America-themed shopping spree came true in time for his birthday... which happens to land on Christmas. With only a week before the holiday, the Subaru El Paso team learned that Jeremmy, who suffers from Hodgkins Lymphoma, wanted a big playset for his backyard, and were somehow able to get it in time for his wish reveal at the dealership. After a limo ride and a tour of a particularly snazzy WRX, Jeremmy walked in to by greeted by Santa, his helpers, and over a hundred of the Subaru family's well wishers who led him to his wish reveal of the playset and many, many other gifts that completed his one true wish. Make-A-Wish North Texas is so grateful to Subaru El Paso for helping us grant wishes for the critically ill children of our community, and we wish them a very merry rest of their holiday season.

This Christmas Subaru of El Paso gave back to the foster children in our community. Subaru provided gifts to 16 children who had hopes of receiving just one gift. This year, these children didn’t only receive one gift, but multiple. If it wasn’t for the giving hearts at Subaru these children would have been without a gift under the tree. Thank you to the Subaru family of El Paso for provided a smile to those thy didn’t know.

Each October, YWCA El Paso del Norte Region hosts the signature Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event to raise funds to support survivors of domestic violence and to create a culture in our community that stands up against it. Subaru El Paso and the staff there has been one of our most consistent sources of support in these efforts. Year after year, Subaru cars lead the parade of men wearing red high heel through downtown El Paso. And the funds from the Subaru sponsorship go directly to YWCA programs serving these survivors. Further, Subaru has supported this population, particularly during the holidays through efforts like blanket drives, and this year, Subaru donated a soft serve ice cream machine—the newest and very exciting addition to the newly remodeled kitchen of the Sara McKight Transitional Living Center. Thank you, Subaru El Paso! Happy holidays from your friends at YWCA El Paso del Norte Region.

El Paso Special Needs Education Center DBA Every Little Blessing Preschool (ELB) is an inclusive preschool for children in El Paso. Inclusion means that some of our students have a diagnoses of Down syndrome or Autism Spectrum Disorder or may be delayed compared to the anticipated milestones for their age. Inclusive also means that we have children that are developing within the growth patterns that are normally expected. Our school believes that all children deserve to be given the best foundation possible during the early years in a safe and fun environment. As a non-profit, we are only able to provide these children with the programming they deserve if we have the support of our community and local businesses. Subaru made a huge difference for our students when they named ELB as the recipient for the Subaru Love Promise® last school year. Because of the amazing $45,000 check, ELB gave nine students a scholarship. We love to share what great things are happening at our school with our community. You can be a part of the Subaru Love Promise too! Every donation and car purchase helps places like ELB provide great things in their community.

Rahja started his journey with PdN Children’s at the age of 2. He had complex gastro-related conditions at birth, and he was placed on a feeding tube. His doctor said it would take years before the G-Tube could be removed, if it could be removed at all. Rahja received specialized therapy services from PdN Children’s Feeding Clinic, and in less than a year, he was eating sufficiently well that he didn’t need his G-Tube. Just six months later, his G-Tube was removed, and he is eating normally and no longer requires intensive therapy for his condition. Alonso was 13 years old when he was enrolled in PdN Children’s ABA (Autism) services. His mother moved from Mexico to El Paso. after she went to pick him up at school one day and found him nailed to his seat by his clothing, so that he could not get up and disturb the class. Alonso’s mom enrolled in various support and advocacy programs as well as case management services. She learned how to advocate and fight for Alonso’s rights. During this time, Alonso received autism therapy services to help him and his mother understand and live with an autism diagnosis. Alonso is now 18 years old, but autism does not stop when a child ceases to be a child. With the knowledge she gained by participating in many PdN Children’s autism advocacy and parent support programs for over 5 years, Alonso’s mother achieved the near impossible and successfully petitioned for guardianship of Alonso. She is now a mentor to many other parents experiencing the same challenges, and she continues to ensure her son receives the services he needs to live with his diagnosis. These are just two examples of the thousands of children and families that have been served by PdN Children’s many programs in the past 75 years. We are tremendously grateful to Subaru of El Paso for their generous $10,000 contribution and for partnering with PdN Children's to allow us to keep serving children with special needs and disabilities in El Paso. The funds will be used in direct support of our mission and will help us serve all children in need, including those without financial means. The generosity of Subaru of El Paso reinforces the importance of collaboration and community support in making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special needs. It is a testament to Subaru of El Paso’s commitment to the well-being of our community and their belief in the transformative power of the services we provide. This donation not only provides financial support but also serves as an inspiration to our entire organization. It reaffirms our dedication and motivates us to continue our work with renewed passion and determination. We are truly blessed to have received this sponsorship from Subaru of El Paso, and we are honored to be recognized as an organization worthy of their support. On behalf of the children and families we serve, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Subaru of El Paso for their unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in our community. Together, we will continue to empower children with special needs, nurture their potential, improve their quality of life, and support them to reach their greatest potential. With partners like Subaru of El Paso, we are confident that we can create a brighter future for every child who walks through our doors." Al Velarde CEO

Our local Subaru El Paso selected the Down Syndrome Coalition for El Paso’s El Paso Special Needs Education Center DBA Every Little Blessing Preschool (ELB) for their November 2022 recipient of the Subaru Share the Love® Event. As the director of this non-profit preschool, it was very exciting to know that we could count on support from Subaru. We depend on the donation and sponsorship of our community members and businesses to maintain our operations and provide the support to El Paso families of children with and without Down Syndrome and similar educational needs. As a unique preschool serving El Paso and surrounding Borderland communities, Subaru went above and beyond what we had expected. Raising $39,333 dollars from local sales, we got the word in February and we were beyond grateful, but Subaru didn’t stop there, they rounded up the donation to $45,000!!! Our school family couldn’t believe it! When we were presented with the check our students and their families were invited to participate and Subaru once again took care of us with a nice reception with snacks, hats, and Happy Meals for the kids!!! Subaru REALLY does share the love!!! With these funds, we are able to keep providing an individualized, developmentally appropriate educational experience for our students and provide much needed resources to families in El Paso. Thank you Subaru for selecting us and being a part of something special!!

Subaru El Paso made a donation of $5,000.00 to El Pasoans Fighting Hunger which is the sole food bank in the borderland serving the tri-country area of El Paso, Hudspeth and Culberson Counties. In this region 1 in 4 adults and 1 in 3 children are food insecure meaning they are unsure where their next meal will come from. El Pasoans Fighting Hunger distributed 93.6 million pounds of food last year through their 132 partner pantries and 818 mobile pantries reaching schools and underserved areas. The generous gift from Subaru will provide food for 35,000 meals and the team plans to volunteer at the main warehouse. We are grateful for Subaru El Paso's growing partnership and support. Thank you for your commitment to alleviating hunger in the Borderland.

El Paso Pro-Musica is proud to collaborate with Subaru El Paso each season, as Barbara Armendariz and her fabulous team provides fantastic Subaru vehicles for the use of world-renowned music artists. Musical luminaries including Itzhak Perlman, Wynton Marsalis and more visit the region to not only perform in concert, but to make music accessible. Subaru makes it possible for El Paso Pro-Musica to transport the musicians to various schools throughout the area to help connect students to a wonderful world of music. The Subaru El Paso vehicles make it possible for visiting artists, including Artistic Director and Grammy Award-winning world-renowned Cellist Zuill Bailey to visit the Segundo Barrio of El Paso and perform for children living in high risk/low income neighborhoods and provide them with music appreciation classes and lessons for the children who thrive as a result of these presentations. Children who cannot afford music lessons are given time and love by EPPM musicians and that is thanks to Subaru El Paso. Subaru has taken musicians to area hospitals to soothe, heal and comfort all of the patients, primarily pediatric patients. A trip in a beautiful Subaru has allowed Zuill Bailey to provide music for children in Neo-Natal Intensive Care Units whereby the oxygen and heart levels of the tiny patients stabilize with the sounds of music. The Subaru vehicles have also helped to transport musicians to the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger and Kelly Center for Hunger Relief Food Banks, whereby the music fills the air and provides added comfort to the families in need, not to mention the employees and volunteers working tirelessly to provide food for thousands of El Pasoans in need. Music makes a difference and Subaru El Paso ensures that El Paso Pro-Musica can continue to Make Music Matter in our Community for all!

For the last several years, KTSM-TV and Subaru of El Paso have partnered with local rescues to Clear the Shelters during NBC's month long adopt-a-thon. In 2022, Subaru of El Paso went above and beyond and not only attended the Kick-Off event at El Paso Animal Services, but opened their doors to two off-site adoption events. Thanks to the support of Subaru of El Paso, over 1500 animals from three different rescues in the region found their fur-ever homes.

The 2022 Whole Hog was a huge success thanks to the El Paso community sponsors and Subaru! We hosted over 800 people at our backyard style BBQ event where people enjoyed live music, dancing, corn hole, great food and drinks, and of course each other! It took donated time and energy from many people to put on this fundraiser and lots of generosity from our sponsors! The Whole Hog is a fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Coalition for EL Paso benefiting the El Paso Special Needs Education Center - Every Little Blessing Preschool. ELB is a family-focused early intervention program for children with Down syndrome and similar educational delays. ELB supports students in an inclusive setting and helps form an educational foundation that is specific to the learning needs of each child, with and without disabilities. ELB also works with families to provide supports and resources outside of school. We hope to change the eyes of the community to be more inclusive and believe in the strengths of our families. Success starts in preschool but lasts a lifetime! Thank you Subaru for supporting our students and our community!

For several years, Subaru of El Paso has been making a difference in the lives of our smallest patients by bringing the Subaru Loves to Care program to Providence Children’s Hospital. These warm blankets they deliver each year have an immeasurable impact on our patients and bring so much hope and warmth. We are incredibly grateful to Subaru of El Paso for their commitment to our hospital, our littlest patients and to our community.

The El Paso Center for Diabetes (the Center) was selected as the nonprofit organization for the 2021-2022 Subaru Share the Love Event. In March 2022, the Center was honored to receive Subaru’s charitable donation for $30,000. There are no words to express how grateful we are for their support. The Center is a locally governed nonprofit organization that has been in existence in El Paso since 1968. The Center first opened its doors in Mrs. Estelle Goodman's garage in November of 1968 to support families with children with type 1 diabetes. Today, the Center remains a local, independent, nonprofit organization in the El Paso Region that offers comprehensive diabetes management, prevention, and support programs. The Center has taken a leadership position in diabetes management in El Paso, Texas as one of the handful of nationally accredited diabetes programs within the region. The Center will provide camps for children who have diabetes or are at risk of developing the disease. The camps consist of one kid’s camp for children between the ages of 5 and 11 and a teen’s camp for children between 11 to 17 years old. The Center will host the camps of up to 60 children during July 2022. The camps are intended to help reduce the number of unnecessary emergency room visits due to uncontrolled diabetes and increase the quality of life of persons with diabetes or at risk of developing it. Both camps are free to any child with pre-diabetes or diabetes. Thank you, Subaru Team, for believing and investing in the Center’s mission as we do – Thousands of children and parents in the El Paso community are counting on our support. We will ensure a healthier community for our families here in El Paso by educating and empowering our community to achieve a healthy life throughout the diabetes journey.

On Wednesday, November 17, the team from Subaru El Paso delivered boxes of blankets and socks to YWCA’s Sara McKnight Transitional Living Center (TLC). The TLC houses women and children who have survived domestic violence, assault, homelessness, and more. YWCA provides a safe place for survivors to live as well as case management, counseling, career and educational support, and other critical services. The Subaru El Paso team, led by dealership owner Barbara Armendariz, received a tour of the facility. YWCA CEO Dr. Sylvia Acosta showed the group the donation boutique where TLC residents can find clothes and other necessities, the garden, and the kitchen where families cook and eat together.“When someone is escaping a domestic violence situation, they often leave with just the clothes on their back,” Dr. Acosta shared with the group. “When they get here, they either have the bare minimum or nothing at all, so we do our best to provide everything from clothes for all ages, diapers, shoes, toiletries, socks, blankets, anything they might need to get a fresh start.”“The blankets and socks gifted by Subaru are so appreciated,” Dr. Acosta said. “Something like a brand new blanket or pair of socks can mean the world to someone who has experienced trauma and has nothing. Donations like these literally help YWCA change lives and we are incredibly grateful to Barbara and the entire Subaru team for their support and generosity.”

The Rescue Mission has served the El Paso area since February of 1952 and over the years has grown to be so much more than a homeless shelter thanks to the support of our community. Today, the Rescue Mission of El Paso not only offers shelter and 3 warm meals a day, but we also offer clothing, toiletries, access to restrooms, showers and laundry machines, basic medical care, counseling, Drug and Alcohol Relapse Prevention programs, job search services, vocational rehabilitation (Hallelujah! BBQ), street outreach and access to a chaplain and chapel services for men, women and children. We also offer affordable housing which benefits veterans and the disabled and we even provide kennels for our guests and residents who bring beloved pets with them. We are a community dedicated to giving a hand up, not just a hand out to those struggling and experiencing homelessness in the El Paso area which is why we were so grateful to have partnered with Subaru El Paso to collect over 150 lbs. of food for the homeless and hungry this holiday season! We look forward to working with Subaru El Paso in the future to help combat homelessness and the factors that lead to homeless situations. Thank you Subaru El Paso for remembering those most struggling in our community and for showing our guests and residents that they are thought of, worth investing in and loved!

When I first became a teacher, I remember the excitement that I felt decorating my classroom and preparing to meet my students. I recall my husband telling me that I was more excited for that first day than the kids were. The night before I couldn’t sleep, the eagerness kept me up. I had gone over my lesson in my head more than one hundred times. I wanted to see the engagement in their faces along with them having the best first day. The feeling of butterflies I felt in my stomach the entire day will never be forgotten. I believe as long as I continue to love what I do, the nervousness and excitement will never go away. My father has always told me "do what you love and call it work." Last school year I had the honor of being named one of Socorro ISD Teacher's of The Year. It was an amazing experience and an incredible achievement, this year Subaru El Paso honored me and gave me the opportunity to drive one of their vehicles. The experience was humbling and unforgettable, I was honored during a football game and was able to share the experience alongside my parents, my children, and my husband. We were given the opportunity to drive an Ascent for a month and we loved it. I can't thank Subaru enough for such an extraordinary experience that I will never forget!

El Paso Animal Services would like to thank Subaru El Paso for continuing to help us save lives right in the borderland. The last few years, Subaru El Paso has teamed up with EPAS to host mobile adoption events at their dealership, collect donations for our lifesaving programs, and sponsor mega-adoption events that has helped provide hundreds of loving forever homes for our shelter pets. Most recently, we hosted our annual Clear the Shelters mega adoption event, and thanks to Subaru's support and sponsorship, we were able to find over 600 loving foster and forever homes over the month-long campaign. Even long stay residents like Logan found their home! We appreciate the love and care they have for rescue pets and their dedication to helping make El Paso a no-kill pet-loving community. We look forward to continuing this great lifesaving relationship!

In April of 2021, Subaru of El Paso made a $14,258 contribution to YWCA El Paso del Norte Region. It's hard to overstate the impact of this kind of contribution, which goes directly to supporting the agency's direct service operations. It makes it possible for YWCA to empower El Pasoans like we've been doing for the last 112 years, but like we have seen especially clearly over the last year. The impact of our childcares, for example, affected women and families across socioeconomic brackets. From a Pediatric oncology nurse, who would not have had any challenges related to childcare under normal circumstances, to the construction worker who was driving his daughters from jobsite to jobsite while they tried to do school work in his truck. YWCA was there to keep children engaged and parents working. Generous gifts like this one from Subaru of El Paso also keep women and children housed and supported at the Sara McKnight Transitional Living Center, which provides services to those experiencing homelessness as a result of domestic violence. And YWCA is supporting the El Paso community through these donations to help individuals gain the skills they need to get back to work, providing foundational digital skills and customer service and sales training through the LIFT (Learn. Invest. Focus. Train.) workforce development program.

Jordye, of Subaru El Paso, heard how I was fearful of leaving my home to go to the dealership during the pandemic, but knew how I had to have a 4 wheel drive out in my remote area. So he delivered the car to my home town for me and took away my traded in vehicle. I don’t think any dealer would offer to do this. He made the whole process quick and painless and was also very helpful/friendly. I will continue services with them.

El Paso Villa María is the only homeless women shelter in the region. Our residents are women who need their wings sown back together, so they can fly again. They are out of abusive relationships, out of prison, or out of rehab. Villa María is a shelter operating under private donations, making it unique to our community needs. Upon entering our program, our residents immediately get physical and mental health services. Once they are ready, we help them obtain their goals. Education, financial literacy, skills setting, nutritional classes, transitional counseling, housing, resume building, meditation, job searching, legal assistance, are a few of the self growth we focus on, to empower them and be prepared for a prosperous future, to not end up homeless again. Our programs focus on stability for our residents. We want to do everything in our power to empower them. Thank you Subaru El Paso. Our residents have lost everything in their road to recovery. This gracious gift is amazing as they don’t have much. Hopefully this blanket represents a shield of protection and reminder that Subaru CARES. Thank you to the team and Ms. Barbara Armendariz GM for being so involved in making impactful changes in our community.

The Down Syndrome Coalition for El Paso (DSC) is committed to building a better tomorrow through education, advocacy and support. The largest program of the DSC is Every Little Blessing Preschool (ELB). ELB is an early childhood education program that provides developmentally appropriate instruction to individuals with special needs alongside their typically developing peers. Thanks to Subaru we have been able to continue to support the children and their families through a challenging time. A strong foundation is critical for all children but even more important for children with special needs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the staff at ELB has remained focused on helping families continue to support their child's early development. While things have changed for everyone, it is so important our children continue to feel the love of their community. Thank you to everyone at Subaru who has helped make it possible for ELB to find new ways to support our children. Unfortunately, we can't thank you in person right now but we look forward to you visit our school when it is safe to do so!

Since 2008, the Puzzler has grown from just a few locals lining up to see who could ride around the mountain the fastest, to the premier endurance race in the Southwest. Riders from throughout the U.S.A. and Mexico start their race season with a healthy dose of sunshine, as they test their attentiveness and fitness on the demanding trails of the Franklin Mountains. The reputation of the Puzzler as being a premier early season event has proliferated throughout the southwest and into Mexico. Hosted by the Borderland Mountain Bike Association (BMBA), the Puzzler has helped grow El Paso Mountain Biking to a level that has encouraged the city to provide more infrastructure support to the outdoor recreation community. Over the years, the BMBA completed construction of a trailhead near Redd Road and Helen of Troy, and secured a maintenance agreement with the Public Service Board to ensure our unique racing venue for years to come! Thanks to proceeds from the El Paso Puzzler, the BMBA is also able to support club activities such as beginner ride clinics, trail building sessions, trail mapping, trail signage, and has donated over $15,000 to the Franklin Mountains State Park. Helping to improve quality of life by providing El Pasoans with access to natural open space, with trails that abut Franklin Mountain State Park in addition to a fantastic venue to hold events such as The El Paso Puzzler. This year we are grateful to Subaru for being the main title sponsor for the Puzzler. Their participation this year was hand in glove partnership with the BMBA and the Puzzler. Their community support for this event shows how important it is to remain close to El Paso’s most valued resource, The Franklin Mountains.

On Saturday, March 16th, Subaru El Paso partnered with the Humane Society of El Paso for a special dog adoption clinic. Small, medium, and large dogs were on display in the showroom, melting the hearts of many Subaru owners, shoppers, and employees alike. In addition to the pet adoption event, Humane Society staffers were on hand answering questions about fostering four legged pets, donating to help save a life, and ways to pitch in and volunteer. Subaru El Paso provided food truck options from the Blazing Chariot and Craze, and passed out fun giveaways like backpacks and t-shirts. Everyone who attended had an opportunity to register for raffle prizes and a grand prize of earring generously donated from Kendra Scott.Service customers were able to give back to the Humane Society, as a portion of every repair order ticket was donated back to the animal charity. The event was a great success resulting in many animals getting rescued and adopted into loving families. Just got my Subie back from my closest dealer, {60 miles away}, Subaru of El Paso, {TX}; for the valve spring recall. I got the letter a few weeks ago, and sat and laughed, {hey better than getting angry, right?} Yes was some disappointed but they will fix it, so out of my hands. Called the dealer, they told me they didn't have the parts yet and put me on a list, awaiting parts and to be scheduled. Got a call from Lorenzo, the service manager to bring my car in on Friday {a week ago}, and they had a loaner for me to use. Due to traffic got there waaay late and the service manager had left for the day BUT Barbara the General Manager took great care of me, got me a new Forester loaner and home I came. They were guessing I would probably receive a call that my car would be finished by Tuesday. {MY attitude was hey it will get done when it gets done, no need to worry, plus I have a brand new loaner}. Got a call form one of the Service writers Ms. Crystal on Wednesday informing me that the valve spring kits didn't come in yet, as expected. It might be completed by next week. {I really appreciated the update}. Got a call yesterday, Friday, that my car was finished!! WoW I was so surprised I expected it to be finished next week!! Went today {Saturday} to go get it, and was informed they did an oil change and new coolant!! At NO charge to me as they had to remove the engine from the car. Awesome by me!! I dunno if other dealers out there give this type of great service, BUT hey Subaru of El Paso, YOU ALL ROCK!! THANK YOU!!

CARE – Cancer Aid Resource & Education provides support to cancer patients so that they may concentrate on their personal treatment, healing, recovery and survival. CARE is there when family’s lives are changed forever with a cancer diagnosis. CARE helps with the financial toll cancer takes on families. CARE’s financial assistance helps patients get to treatment by providing them with gas cards. CARE also helps them with basic living needs, normal day to day expenses like food and nutritional supplements or with a rent or mortgage payment because their income has dropped due to losing time from work. CARE also helps them with utilities so that their water, gas and lights remain on or to avoid disconnection. CARE may also pay for their phone service so that the family can stay connected and they may communicate with their doctors. CARE also helps those who have to travel for their treatment by paying for their lodging, airfare or meals. The work of CARE is said best by families, as said by this mom. "My son, Eduardo Ramirez, was diagnosed with leukemia the day after his 11th birthday. This came as a horrible hit to our family. In this difficult time, I, a mom, spent time trying to get back into a good place in my mind. My husband had to take 6 months off from work to help with our children. We would take turns in the hospital and we would switch every 3 days with one in the hospital and one at home with our other child. CARE was so much help and great support, not only financially, but to also have someone to talk to and feel safe. Our priority was our children, so sometimes when we would get home I had forgotten to pay my water bill or my electric bill because I lost track of time so easily. CARE was always there for us and would help with our house bills and gas cards so that we could travel from Las Cruces to El Paso almost every day. When I would get home and find myself with a shut off notice or with a shut off utility, Yoli Diaz of CARE would have them back on in hours. CARE is an amazing organization that helps families at their most needed times when the world feels like it is coming down. Fortunately, we reached the point where my other son was a match for Eduardo to have a bone marrow transplant.I am happy to say that this cancer journey has taken us to the point where my son is now cancer free. I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to CARE for everything, from the very bottom of my heart". – MitzellAs CARE provides supports to cancer patients and their families, it is heartfelt work that we cannot do alone. This is where we must give our sincere thanks to our supporters and partners who help us do the work we do for families diagnosed with cancer. I would like to take the time to thank Subaru El Paso, Barbara Armendariz, General Manger, Patrick Gonzalez, Sales Manager and all the staff involved in such an awesome community giving program, “Share the Love”. Thank you Subaru El Paso for rolling up your sleeves and getting involved with our community and CARE! We at CARE share the LOVE of Subaru El Paso because Subaru El Paso helps organizations like ours improve the lives of OUR LOCAL people. Subaru El Paso makes OUR WORLD a better place by helping us help families like Eduardo. This is POWERFUL because Subaru El Paso creates an everlasting positive impact in the communities they SERVE, LOVE and CARE!

Angel Mora, at the age of 12, believed he was just like any other young man. He was attending middle school, playing video games and loved playing soccer. That all changed after one blood test. Angel started having nose bleeds. Most of us have experienced nose bleeds in our lives, but this was different. For some reason, Angel's nose bleeds became more and more frequent and had difficulty stopping. In the United States, approximately 3,000 children under the age of 15 are diagnosed with a blood cancer called Leukemia. When Angel and his family sought medical help for his nose bleeds, the doctor ordered a simple blood test. As a result of that blood test, Angel and his family were informed that Angel was now one of those 3,000 children. When Angel learned that he had cancer, he said he was surprised. It just shows how strong and determined Angel was to get better. Angel did not have a lot of time to reflect however; he began his treatment immediately. Angel has completed his first year of his scheduled three year treatment protocol. His prognosis is very positive, due to the support of his family, doctors, nurses and hospital staff and for treatment resulting from cutting edge research by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. His mother, Norma is always by his side during his treatment. He is never alone, but there are others in the El Paso community who support blood cancer patients as well. The team from Subaru of El Paso personally surprised patients at Providence Hospital with blankets on June 25th, 2018. There is nothing like one's own special blanket to express how Subaru Loves to Care. Special thank you to General Manager, Barbara Armendariz and Sales Manager, Patrick Gonzalez for their continual support for their community and for local blood cancer patients at Providence Hospital. Angel, along with other patients at Providence Hospital, now have their own special blankets to keep them warm during their cancer treatments. Angel’s mother, Norma, especially appreciated this special gift presented to her son. It made her day a little bit brighter. It’s nice to know that when someone in your family is diagnosed with a life changing illness, they are not alone. Subaru of El Paso supports its community and Loves to Care.
Did Group 1 Subaru El Paso go above and beyond, provide exceptional service, or support causes that are important to you? We'd love to hear about it.
